Midwest Rescue Horse Trainers Challenge to be held September 22nd

Wisconsin Horse Alliance will be hosting its 1st Annual “Midwest Rescue Horse Trainers Challenge”. This first time event will feature up to 20 horses from equine rescues across the state of Wisconsin, and 20 trainers who have been invited and partnered with each horse. Each trainer will have 90 days to train and prepare for the final competition with their horse. The competition will include in-hand, walk/trot/canter under saddle, trail, and freestyle.

The Midwest Rescue Horse Trainers Challenge in an event developed to raise awareness about equine adoption and to showcase the versatility and talent of rescue horses. The trainers taking part in the competition will demonstrate their skills and accomplishments while enhancing the adoptability of their equine partner. Cash prizes will be awarded for top teams taking the honors of 1st-5th place.

All horses in the competition will be available to the public for adoption at the end of the competition. Those with an interest in adopting must have a pre-approved adoption application and may bid on the horses available for adoption, with the highest bid winning.

The rescues participating in the Challenge include Pony Tales Refuge & Rehab, Inc., Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, Inc., Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary, Beautiful Hearts Rescue and Holyland Donkey Haven Inc.

The primary goal of this event is to shed light on the incredible talent and potential of rescue horses and the people that support these rescues (through adoptions or donations) who play such a critical role in their journey to a new life.
